Relevant Qualifications & Experience

Although this voluntary experience was some years ago the people I have met and the insights I gained whilst working there will stay with me forever. I believe whole heartedly that I needed to understand the health and social care sector outside of the parameters of my own experience, my work with Alzheimers Scotland did exactly that. To this day my training thoughtfully discusses some of the challenges people living with dementia face on a daily bases. Most of all reminding everyone of the importance of being human.

I really enjoyed the content of this course and I feel that it has given me real insight into the health and social care system from a variety of different perspectives. The topics were both interesting and informative. I feel this qualification has given me the foundation I need to enhance my own professional practice.

From my own personal experience I know just how much of a difference it makes when people show empathy and compassion and truly listen and it was important to make sure that I could offer that space for another person. I completed this some years ago but have now found listening to be a fundamental part of Naked Brains and so this feels relevant to the work that I do.

I believe it is important to continue professional development. I want to ensure my training is representing of everybody and I always believe that there is more to learn. I decided Ito begin my professional development with this course because I believe it is an under represented group and everyone's voice deserves to be heard.
